BIOGRAPHY

Ina Baumeister is an artist, bookbinder, and conservator.

Born and raised in Germany, Ina holds an MA in Book Art from the University of the Arts London, a Master of Crafts from the Bavarian Chamber of Crafts in Munich, and a Level6 apprenticeship degree in fine binding and box-making from the NRW Chamber of Crafts in Dusseldorf. Ina is a member of ICON, ICOM, a-n, and an internationally insured artist and arts-organiser.

Her research into human language perception and language acquisition, in relation to its physical representation and communication, such as books and other printed matter, have led her to lecture at universities and institutions in the UK and internationally.

Ina works freelance for Tate Britain, The University of Northampton, The Wellcome Trust, and other institutions, galleries and universities across the UK and abroad. In conjunction with arts organisation Book Works she has led workshops for Houses of Parliament, Central St Martins, Misk Art Institute and the Drawing Room, to list but a few.
